14 months old

Yesterday Henry turned 14 months old! This past month has held a lot of adventures, mostly because of how crazy our lives have been (as you can tell by my lack of blogging!). Henry started walking in this past month, and ever since then he's been a walking machine! Now he hardly ever crawls anymore, and has improved his walking style from Frankenstein (full on arms sticking out in front of him!) to pro toddling. As usual, he still likes to get into everything, and is very adventurous. In the past month we have moved, and he's been our little helper through that. He's also been super spoiled because for the past two weeks we've been living with Mimi and Bear (Josh's parents), and they have been loving him up!

These pictures are sort of reverse order chronologically, but they all happened within the past month so it's ok. Here we go:

this little maestro has been improving his skills

he's been interested in watching Elmo a couple times. this is his intent face.

he helped us put our furniture back together in our new house. he's very handy.

he also got super sick, and was a poor little snuggle bug :( we think he had the flu. it was sad.

he still drinks a bottle before bed. its alright, our pediatrician said it was ok.

he had a lot of fun driving to our new place and back (a couple times!)

we were even riding buddies one day

he's become a yoga teacher. he's very advanced.

he's a pro now at climbing things and getting back on the floor properly. and being king of the hill.
and he really enjoyed his first visit to pizza factory (he takes after his mom)
As usual, it has been a really fun month, and so fun to see him constantly learning and growing. he now has 7 (almost 8--another one is coming through now) teeth, and is a legit TODDLER! I love this little boy, and I'm so excited to get to stay home with him more now that we're moving. :)

Valentines

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's day. Henry got a card in the mail from Mok and Pok, and he was SO EXCITED that we just had to get pictures of his reaction.

As you can tell, he loved it. He had a great Valentine's day. He even got a stuffed animal from Mimi and Bear, and of course he got loved up as much as possible, with extra kisses, from all of us :)

Henry's walking!!

You know how yesterday I said Henry wasn't walking yet? Apparently I just have to publicly state he isn't doing something, so he'll start doing it! Today after we got home he was cruising along furniture and just doing laps around the room. Then we noticed him take about 6 steps without holding on to anything. We were pretty amazed. After that, it was natural to him! Here are a couple videos I managed to take (although even since we filmed these he's been walking longer distances by himself!):

Disclaimer (in case you have your sound on): I was watching Henry by the fireplace!

Way to go buddy!! We have a walking little boy on our hands!

13 months old

Henry is 13 months old today. And no, he still isn't walking (that's the first question everyone asks). This past weekend he took about 6 steps, which is the most I've seen him take on his own. He can cruise around perfectly fine while holding furniture, or even one of our hands, but as far as walking solo--he prefers his faster mode of transportation (crawling).

He is adorable as ever, of course. I swear he just gets cuter every day. This past month he has started saying "daddy" (instead of just "dada"), which is so cute! He says all his other words that he's been saying for a while now (hi, mama, dada, yeah).  He attempts to say other words like hello, mommy, and other stuff I can't remember, but his classics are the clearest. He also has been clapping and waving like crazy. He's been learning some more dance moves; I've caught him doing some booty shakes a couple times.

He loves his toys, his cousins, the cat, and all soft things. The cutest thing he does lately is he lays his head down sideways on something if he likes it, or it's soft. In which case Jay-Z (our cat, not the rapper) fits both bills. Jay-Z gets very nervous about it, but it is the most adorable thing ever. Sometimes Henry will make an "aww" noise, but mostly he'll wait for us to say "aww". The cutest thing happened over our vacation, when we went to the mall. We were in Forever21 and I was standing in front of a rack of faux-fur jackets, and all of a sudden Henry dives forward, lays his head sideways on all the soft fur, and went "aww". *Heart melting!!*

And as usual, here's a wonderful compilation of less-than-amazing-quality pictures from the last month for you to ooh and ahh over:

like father like son

squishy faces

Henry woke up in time for New Years, so we had our New Years kiss

Henry loves his lasagna!

he thinks daddy is hilarious, especially when holding him upside down

he brought home our national championship title. roll tide!

and he clapped a lot
Happy 13 months, buddy! We love your guts!
