henry's first solids, part 2

As you can see in the video in part 1, Henry actually did enjoy eating his carrots. I took these pictures after the camera stopped rolling so I could keep documenting this amusing experience. Here's what happened...

"gimme, gimme more!"
"these are delish! what's in them?"

"let me do it mommm!"

"wait a minute..."

This is the part where Henry's tired-ness really set in, and he was fed up (pun intended) with this whole carrot business. His gung-ho attitude quickly disintegrated...

"make it stop!"

"ew"

"what is happening!?"

"i refuse!"

"some got up my nose mom. i'm so over this!"
"i'm dirty"
"DONE!"
Don't worry, the next day he did much better. Now he's a good little bunny, eating all his carrots. :)

henry's first solids, part 1

Thursday night (June 14th) we set up Henry's highchair for the first time (thanks Mok and Pok!). Henry thought it was pretty awesome. He's been in Sarah's highchair before, but this one is his very own. We were going to wait until he turned 6 months exactly until we fed him his first "real food" (more than just rice cereal, but actual baby food), based on what our pediatrician advised, but we figured one day wouldn't make a bit of difference. The carrots were all ready to go since I made my first batch of baby food just a couple days before. So once we finally got the highchair put together and plopped him in, we were ready to roll.

"this is alllll mine?! awesome!!"

"let me break it in first. yes folks, that is a stream of puke you're lookin' at...yum..."

And for your viewing pleasure, I made Josh take a video:

hogle zoo outing

Grandma took us to the Hogle Zoo today! It was Henry's first zoological outing :)

"a zoo stroller? ew. good thing they sanitized it. onward!"

"hey, it's a baby, like me!"

"that's my mom pretending to be a bird. if i look away maybe no one will associate us"

"what is that? a monkey!? gross, i'll stay in here"

"had to take a stop with my homeboys"

"hey mom, look at my new friend!! i even looked him in the eye!"

"yeah, my grandma is pretty cool. that lady with the green shirt needs to move it or lose it, though!"

"i told everyone they have to look good"

"i'm a tiger, duh"

"whoaaaa! i feel like he might eat me, but he's cool at the same time"
Thank you for taking us to the zoo, Grandma! We love you and we're so glad you visited ♥

giddy up!

"I am just so hyper, they fell off. I'm sorry..."

My dad saw all these adorable cowboy boots that even came in baby sizes, so he really wanted to get a pair for Henry. I'm not one to turn down cute clothes/accessories, so of course I said yes! These boots are a little bit bigger so he will fit in them around the time he can start walking (hopefully...unless he's a late bloomer? haha). My mom came up to visit us for the weekend and brought the boots along. So of course we had to have a photoshoot! And there were so many good pictures I just had to post all of them. But I'm assuming that if you are looking at this blog, you're expecting to see tons of pictures, so here you go:

"Well hey there, you wanna check me out?"

"Yeeeeeehaw!!"

"Hey mom--you look really washed out in this pic. But I look awesome. Post it!"

"Wait a minute...what does yeehaw mean?"

"Oh who cares? I look gooooood"

"I can still roar in them. Awesome. They pass my test!"

"The chicks will all dig this look, right?"

"Oh duh, I'm adorable, of course they will."

"These pictures are going on the internet? But I didn't even do my hair, mom!"

"Aww shucks, I forgot...I'm so cute it just doesn't even matter. Thanks Grandpa! Giddy up!"

henry's adventures: conquering the palace

On Tuesday I had just changed Henry's diaper and set him down to get him a new outfit. And he discovered the kitty palace. I only had my ipod which has poor picture quality, but I was able to capture his adventures:

Then I changed his outfit, went to grab his other babyleg (the legwarmer things he's wearing), and he went back for the palace:

I promptly told him the yarn was disgusting because it was Jay-Z's and took it away from him. But it was a great personal conquer for him, so I let him down gently. ;)

future soccer player

Henry has this playmat from Mimi and Bear that he likes. When I first set it up he was tiny, so I didn't put the inflatable ball down by his feet like they show on the box. Instead I put it up by his hands instead of the orange octopus. Well yesterday I figured I would move the ball down to his feet now since he's bigger, and because he LOVES to kick. He's always kicking!! Henry definitely was having a great time kicking his ball like a professional soccer player. I think we might make some money out of this kid someday ;)

Enjoy the action shots:

"Well that wasn't there before..."

"hey mom, why didn't you do this sooner?!"
see the ball flying? he's super strong, I know

"That's all for now, folks! Gotta get back to practicing!"

5 months old!

Today Henry is 5 months old. I know I say this every month, but where has the time gone?!? This past month Henry has been growing, growling, kicking, rolling, being all around adorable, and trying to eat his delicious looking/tasting feet. These are all pictures from today:

what's up, yo?

i lovvvve to playyyyy!

what...is happening?

what? toys!?

i promise i was playing with them a lot, not just staring at them...
So Henry has been a real rolly poly this past week or two. It's pretty cute. The only thing is that sometimes he will roll into some sort of obstacle (the couch, for example), and will get stuck on his belly. He can't figure out that he needs to just roll back the other direction. So he'll remain stuck and start crying until we come roll him back the other way :)

like so. he got stuck on his playmat.

and then had a meltdown
Haha, don't worry, I rolled him back over ;) We love you so much Henny Benny!
