21 months old...a little late!

So...Henry is 22 months now. But we've been a little busy around here. I'll try and capture his 21st month first, then the next post will be 22 months! Whoops..

Henry is truly my little buddy. So much so that I was really worried for when George would arrive. I would go on daily walks and Henry always behaved so well in his stroller. I'd point out flowers and he would point at helicopters. His vocabulary has been growing almost every day, and his comprehension surprises me all the time. He started saying "truck" and loves to play with trucks and cars. There was a lot of rain during this month, and Henry loved going outside and playing in it. He's definitely a water baby!!

And of course, the pictures:

My mom came into town to help out around the house, and hopefully be present for George's birth. It was great to have her, and of course she spoiled Henry. And it ended up that she was able to be there for George's arrival (yay!).

When George was born, we got help from my mother who was in town, and from our friends Ryan and Natalie (thanks you guys!!). So while I was laboring and soothing a newborn, Henry was having a ball with his friends. When Henry visited George in the hospital he was uninterested to the point of pushing George away. But after we brought George home, Henry warmed right up and loved his new baby.

The weekend after George was born, Mimi and Bear came to visit. They of course brought tons of toys and kept Henry well entertained. He was pretty sad to see them go.

Henry got a new water table from Mimi and Bear :)

Overall, we had a fun month. Before George came I tried to really savor my days with just Henry--since I knew it would be a big adjustment for everyone once the baby came. So we played a lot and had some fun quality time. Once George came home with us, Henry has been very sweet and we are so thankful! He is a great big brother :)

17 months old

On Wednesday Henry turned 17 months old. Wowza! This past month Henry has become a climbing machine. He climbs anything and everything. It can get quite dangerous so of course it gives me anxiety. The biggest change we've had in the last month is that now I'm a full-time stay at home mom...yippee!! This gives me and Henry a lot more time together to have fun and play around. I love getting to spend so much time with this cutie. We've gone to Arizona, hit up a bunch of parks/playgrounds, played with friends, gone to the library, gone to Saint George, etc. It's been fun :)

one of Henry's girlfriends...young love ;)

Henry is the newest sponsor of Muscle Milk

he loves rocks. he found out there's a whole stash of them on the other side of our patio.

we went to the slot canyons in Saint George last month. we call it the narrows.

we didn't actually end up going all the way through the narrows. but we played all around them.

walking with daddy.

we've had more visits from the grandparents!!

we sort of accidentally gave Henry "steps"...you might be able to see in the pic on the right. they're actually pretty cute.

Henry LOVES to climb this chair and turn the lightswitch on/off over and over

there's a new park in town. Henry already knows his way around.
he's already becoming a "juicehead"

don't you just want to squeeze him?!
Henry copies us a lot, so he's said a lot of random words I can't even keep track of. One of his new ones this past month was "Grandpa". That was cute. He loves to say belly and look at his belly or other peoples bellies...especially mine (since it's large and in charge now). A couple days ago while at the store he said belly (although it kind of sounded like baby...so who knows...) and then tried to lift up my shirt. Soo....he still has no boundaries ;) haha.

Also, as part of his gymnast adventures, he did this the other night... A couple of disclaimers first: 1) We do not normally encourage dangerous behavior; 2) He doesn't have a shirt on because we took it off before dinner (lasagna). Ok, here goes:

It's been a great month. I'll try and upload the blog more often in the future :)

Arizona Adventures

This blog post is a little overdue (oops!). A couple weeks ago me and Henry went Arizona to visit my parents and Nana. The nice thing about being a stay at home mom is having the ability to go on little trips like this. I just had to get over my anxiety of driving there and back by myself, and we were set to go ;) We had so much fun in Arizona, even though it felt SO HOT! Thank goodness I packed every pair of shorts Henry owns, because that's all he wore while we were there. Thankfully I managed to remember to snap some pictures, so here are our adventures:

my driving buddy! we were ready to go!
my parents have a pool. they had just added a lot of the water, so it was freezing

thankfully my photographer grandma was there to take some awesome pics!

Henry had no qualms about jumping right in. Freezing or not, he loves the pool.

there was a little propeller on this toy that kept splashing him in the face.

Clearly, he found it hilarious

a lot of his sunscreen rubbed off on my tank top, but he didn't get burnt :)

fun with noodles.

good times in the pool!!

we went to a fun playground and also got to feed the ducks

Henry was a little hungry himself

Henry loved this mini rocking chair. It's the perfect size!

My parents got a swing hooked up out back. Henry approved.

I wonder who he takes after?

Getting a ride with Grandpa on our way to frozen yogurt

Playing games with grandpa

Henry being such a good boy on the drive home (w/stops it takes about 7 hours)

this is how we arrived home :)
We had so much fun, and Henry got super spoiled. We're excited to plan another trip soon! Although I really wish it wasn't approaching summer so quickly, Arizona is like a toaster oven!! Keep that pool running, Grammy and Grandpa! :)

Uncle BJ came to visit

Uncle BJ came to visit this past weekend, and him and Henry became BFF. They were so sweet together and played almost non-stop. Here is a complete photo-dump. As you can tell, there was a lot of video-game playing and block building.
