grandma time!

My mom came up for the weekend. She claimed it was for my birthday, but we all really know it was just to see Henry. I don't blame her, he is quite adorable ;). And just so when Henry someday reads this blog in the future (or we turn it into a book or something), I want him to know just how much she loves him. She drove all the way up from Arizona yesterday (Friday), and is driving back down tomorrow (Sunday). And she has a pinched nerve in her back, so not only was it a long drive, but also painful. Henry, SHE LOVES YOU! They've been having a fun day, and Henry loves playing with his grandma :)

Tonight we had a little photoshoot, and it was adorable:

We are so glad grandma was able to come up and visit, even if it was only for a couple days. ♥ We love you!

sitting up? what!?

So I was texting Sarah yesterday about how Henry was doing, and she told me he could sit up on his own. Whaaaaaat!?!?! After having a brief meltdown over missing this monumental (to me) moment [and having to work, blah blah blah], I was super excited and so proud of my little stud! Thank you Sarah for taking pictures for me:

Keep in mind Henry is only 12 weeks old. Basically....he's a genius. My baby can totally beat up your baby!!

instagram fun

i just downloaded instagram on the ipad a couple days ago, and i love it. naturally i just take a ton of pictures of henry of course. i've also perfected the screen shot on the ipad so i can just keep taking pictures of him and emailing them to myself so i am not constantly posting a billion henry pictures on my instagram feed haha. (btw, my username is yourstrulydear, if you want to follow).

henry's baby blessing

I did a brief post on my main blog about this, but here are some more pictures and fun from the weekend. On Sunday Henry was blessed in church, so my family came up for the weekend from Arizona. My dad and sister hadn't met Henry yet, so that was fun for them to finally see him (he's a real boy!). Here are some pics from the lovely weekend [disclaimer: Henry has brown hair, but it shows up reddish in pictures with a flash]:

On Saturday Henry had his first trip to the mall. You can tell he was thrilled (thankfully he slept most of the time)

It was a great weekend, and involved showing off Henry a lot. He's a champ, so it went well. It was fun to spend time with family and friends! Thanks to everyone who came out for the blessing :)

My best friend from high school, Alex, made this snuggler for Henry. She's really talented, I totally thought she had bought it from a store because it looked so professionally done! I absolutely love the pattern, and it's so nice to have this little swaddler on hand. Plus, I mean he looks so adorable in it, you can't help but love it:

henry's playtime

I set up Henry's play place thing (I don't know what its called...) on Wednesday for the first time. Mimi and Bear (Henry's grandparents on Josh's side) gave it to us, and I was curious to see how Henry would respond. He was having one of his "quiet and alert" stretches, and I figured if nothing else, it would just be me watching Henry puke on a colorful mat. What's more entertaining than that? He actually ended up liking it, which translates to mean he didn't start crying. Since I decided I want to take more home videos of Henry for posterity's sake, I recorded this magical experience. And if you manage to watch this video long enough [it isnt exactly mind-bending footage..] you will see him smile near the end!
