vacation: 4th of july
We got this adorable onesie from Mimi, and happened to have matching shorts. Which resulted in the most adorable patriotic ensemble I've ever seen! We had a little holiday photoshoot, which doesn't require any more introduction.
After eating the flag, we took that away and then he decided to show off his new trick. He was really proud of himself:

vacation: pool, round 2
Henry was much more confident about being in the pool his second time around. We also remembered his sunglasses, so that probably helped too. He had a blast!

vacation: new tricks
On Tuesday (July 3rd) Henry started doing a brand new trick: getting up on his knees!
And this isn't necessarily a new trick, but he loves standing up and then bouncing over and over.

vacation: first pool experience
vacation: vegas style
This past week we went on vacation with my family in Mesquite, Nevada. Mesquite is not that far to drive to, and more baby friendly than somewhere else like Vegas. We had a very fun and relaxing time, and it was good to see my family.
On Monday we went to Vegas and went to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. We bought an umbrella stroller for the trip and it was his first time cruising around in it. He had a blast!
Henry also made a friend at the aquarium:
Then we were walking around Vegas afterwards, and Henry LOVED looking around at all the people and things going on. He loved it so much that he didn't even take his afternoon nap.

6 months old!
Henry actually turned 6 months old last week, but his 6 month doctors appointment was today. It went well, and he got the last round of his current vaccines (good job, kiddo!).
Stats:
Weight: 15.76 lbs -- 15.94%
Length: 25.75" -- 12.7%
Head circumference: 17.2" -- 59.02%
So...he's kind of a shrimp... But he's still growing on the curve for the growth charts they print out, so they said he's doing good.
When the pediatrician went to exam his stomach/hips/diaper area Henry was cracking up. He was doing his deep-belly laughs and must have thought she was tickling him :) It was adorable. The doctor said she's never had a baby do that, and it totally made her day. All three of us were laughing about it. What a silly little boy!
We also talked about his sleeping...and basically determined we need to have him cry it out, without his pacifier. I'm a little worried about this, but hopefully Henry will adapt quickly. He's a pretty smart baby so I'm hoping he won't have too much trouble with it. You might want to include us in your prayers tonight though ;)

tickle fight
Josh was tickling Henry and he was doing his adorable deep-belly laughs. By the time I had the camera on this was all he was doing. The first laugh is the best one :)
